Our Community - 23rd District

Our district, located in the heart of Virginia, is nestled along the James River, and is home to over 79,000 people including the city of Lynchburg and parts of Amherst County.

Amherst, recently featured in the New York Times, is known for its scenic beauty, easy way of life, and its warm and generous people. It is home to the Central Virginia Training Center, Sweet Briar College, and the Virginia Center for Creative Arts

Lynchburg, known as the "City of Seven Hills," is home to five colleges and universities including Central Virginia Community College, Liberty University, Lynchburg College, Randolph College, and Virginia University of Lynchburg. A recent Washington Post article highlighted Lynchburg's "vibrant cultural scene," "distinctly bohemian air," and "standout restaurants and shops that combine individual style with world-class quality and taste."
